¿Sabes qué es el puerto PCIe y para qué sirve? En este video te lo voy a explicar de forma sencilla y rápida. El puerto PCIe es una tecnología que permite conectar diferentes componentes dentro de tu PC, como la tarjeta gráfica, la unidad de estado sólido o la tarjeta de sonido. Estos componentes se conectan a través de unos slots o ranuras que hay en la placa base, y que tienen distintos tamaños y velocidades. En este video te voy a mostrar cómo identificar los slots PCIe, qué tipos hay y cómo elegir el más adecuado para cada componente. Los slots PCIe tienen un número de carriles o líneas, que son como las vías por donde circula la información entre el componente y el procesador. Cuantos más carriles tenga un slot, más rápido será el intercambio de datos. Por ejemplo, para las tarjetas gráficas se suelen usar slots PCIe x16, que tienen 16 carriles. Los slots más pequeños, como los PCIe x1, tienen solo un carril y se usan para componentes menos exigentes. El PCIe tiene varias versiones o generaciones, que se diferencian por la velocidad de transferencia de datos que pueden alcanzar. Cada nueva versión duplica el rendimiento de la anterior. Por ejemplo, el PCIe 4.0 puede transferir hasta 16 GB/s por carril, mientras que el PCIe 3.0 solo puede transferir hasta 8 GB/s por carril. Esto significa que si usas un slot PCIe 4.0 x16, puedes alcanzar una velocidad de hasta 256 GB/s, lo cual es muy útil para las tarjetas gráficas más potentes. Para saber qué versión de PCIe tiene tu placa base y tus componentes, puedes consultar el manual del fabricante o usar algún programa como CPU-Z o GPU-Z. También puedes ver el número de la versión impreso en el propio slot PCIe.
