Hard Rock International officially closed Mirage Las Vegas on July 17, 2024, launching a 30-month transformation project aimed at rebranding and expanding the property with a larger casino, a 600-foot guitar-shaped hotel, and additional entertainment offerings. In December 2021, Hard Rock International acquired The Mirage for $1.08 billion and took operational control in 2023. The property will remain closed until its anticipated opening in 2027. As part of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Hard Rock will introduce its third tribal-operated casino in Las Vegas. This follows the Mohegan Tribe's opening of the Mohegan Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in March 2021 and the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians’ purchase of the Palms Casino Resort in May 2021.
