The Mirage Las Vegas will be closing it's doors for good on July 17, 2024. The hotel has been bought by the Hard Rock which will be closing the hotel/casino to rebrand the property the Hard Rock Hotel. The new Hard Rock is going to open in 2027 with a new 700 foot guitar shaped Hard Rock Hotel tower along the Las Vegas Strip where the current Mirage volcano now sits. My kids and I decided to come down to the Strip to take one last walk through the Mirage. We wanted to check out the casino area and watch the nightly volcano show one last time. The Mirage was the first mega resort on the strip. It opened a few months after I moved to Las Vegas in November 1989. You can see in the video how nice the place still looks.
